The body of work in this website was birthed over the last nine years. During the course of this time I completed two art degrees, helped to raise a grandchild, assisted many people in their dying process and sat with countless others while they grieved these losses. My sojourns into desert places and across the mountains of the Great Divide with other pilgrims helped me to heal and to ground myself in the reality of impermanence. Time spent on the meditation cushion during retreats, breathing in and breathing out, no place to go and nothing to do, has matured me in ways that I never knew were possible. Zen Master Thich Nhat Hahn says that we suffer not because all is impermanent but because we believe that it's not. I have found this to be true.

The Year to Live experience has been and continues to be a vehicle for developing an open heart and mind about what it means to live and die consciously, to notice our many blessings and to forgive our many mistakes. It is a creative process that helps those who enter it to be fully alive and to face death without fear. In my studio as I work, I am more aware now than ever of the fact that what I am creating will be my legacy. Leaving something of beauty behind makes me happy. It is a pleasure to assist others in finding what their true legacy is and to assist them in bringing that into form through ethical wills.
